"To all the ones that said the actresses being in on it made it so much worse— really? Why are you guys always mad? And CHOOSING to be mad also when you don’t have to be. Doesn’t that get tiring? As everyone has already said, rape is sad, yes. But seriously, this is supposed to be something for entertainment that I’m sure went through a lot of screening to make it to television. Why are you getting so worked up over this? This joke has NOTHING to do with rape. So stop trying to latch onto every conversation and kill it because it doesn’t already involve you. I’m honestly getting sick of you guys making every post into an angry post. “
You managed to include, ignorance, rape trivialization and apologism, victim blaming in one concise brain shit.
It makes it worse because, as was already stated, scenes listed i the song included rape scenes. The continual objectification of breasts, followed by pretending rape is JUST “sad” and not a crime nothing short of torture, while simultaneously earning praise and acclaim for not only accepting misogyny, but then promoting it is exactly the kind of mainstream feminist bullshit that throws everyone else under the bus.
Feminism is only dangerous if you’re investing in patriarchy. Rich women accruing more fame by playing along in that shitty song are doing just that - thinking about themselves, continuously.
